Andrew Murdoch

BVM&S DipECVS MRCVS
EBVS® and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery

Andrew graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2003. He spent three years working in mixed practice before moving to a dedicated small animal hospital. Having always had a strong interest in surgery, he decided to pursue specialist training.

He completed his residency in small animal surgery at the University of Cambridge and became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2017. He has been an RCVS Recognised Specialist since 2018. Andrew joined VetsNow in Manchester shortly after it opened, keen to experience the mix of traditional referral and emergency work.

Andrew is keen to accept referrals for treatment of Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS), cruciate disease and reconstructive techniques after trauma or cancer surgery. He also enjoys minimally invasive (fluoroscopic-guided orthopaedic surgery, laparoscopy and thoracoscopy) and thoracic surgery. He is responsible for the training of our next generation of specialist surgeons in the hospital through our ECVS residency program.
