Carla graduated in veterinary medicine from The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2014. She completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the university hospital, where she discovered her interest in emergency and critical care.
She later began a discipline-specific internship in emergency and intensive medicine at the same hospital. In 2019, she began her residency in emergency and critical care at the UAB Veterinary Teaching Hospital, and in 2022, she obtained the title of European Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care (ECVECC) and joined Vets Now Glasgow.
