Cert VN ECC
Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care
This qualification has been designed for veterinary nurses who have an interest in extending their knowledge and understanding of small animal emergency and critical care nursing. The course is accredited by City & Guilds and is an educational qualification at level 4.
Easily accessible and delivered entirely online, the Cert VN ECC builds on your existing nursing skills and knowledge. It’s open to all RCVS registered veterinary nurses and our international colleagues who have a similar accredited qualification.
It will also provide a new route for veterinary nurses to develop their skills in emergency medicine and provide enhanced patient care. Online enrolments for the next intake of the small animal Cert VN ECC for April and October 2017 are open now. Once you have read the course information please go to the how to apply section.

You can claim a total of 54 CPD hours upon completion of this course (three hours per outcome). A CPD certificate will be provided on successful completion of the final assessments along with your official City & Guilds certification. These are the approved hours for the course itself.
Individual webinars are also available throughout the course, either as live or recorded sessions, and CPD hours can be claimed accordingly for these.
Suggested study time is around 5 to 10 hours per week. However, this is not a requirement — it can be more or less than this dependent on how you work best. A lot of students tell us that they spent more time than this overall, but everyone works differently, and some units may take longer than others.
Approximate length of completion for the course is 18 months (including the final examinations).
There is a student forum on our e-learning platform for each student cohort. You can chat to other students, raise questions or discuss your assignments. Tutor feedback is also available via the forum.
Students who successfully complete the course and pass all three final assessments will be presented with the award of CertVNECC, receive official certification from City & Guilds and a badge commemorating your award. Please click on the link above for more information on the final assessments.
