This is an ideal opportunity for a confident Veterinary Surgeon (who enjoys a fast paced environment) to develop management skills, as well as continuing to increase skills in Critical Care and emergency work.
Role Summary
This Senior Veterinary Surgeon role will see you to take on the management of the Vets Now clinic team, ensuring that your clinic delivers high clinical standards and exceptional levels of customer service. In addition to the management of the Vets Now team you will also be central in development of local relationships with your member practices.
Of course this role will also provide you to provide veterinary care to urgent and critical patients, seeing a varied case load on most shifts, ensuring you work within a stimulating and interesting work environment. Vets Now are committed to continually developing the standards of clinical care we provide and as Senior Veterinary Surgeon you will work closely with your Regional Clinical Manager to help drive clinical standards.
As a manager you will also have responsibility for the financial success of your clinic and along with you Regional Business Manager you will ensure that the clinic meets its full potential and is a successful part of the Vets Now network. You will be fully supported in running the clinic by a Regional Team (clinical and non-clinical support) and in addition to this you will receive an excellent induction and ongoing management training programme.

Working Pattern
As a Senior Veterinary Surgeon one of your responsibilities is the management of the vets’ rota; but as a guide, a typical Full Time shift pattern would involve working 3 nights per week along with a share of weekend days and public holidays. Your working hours will be split between clinical work and management duties. Shift times are a share of: Monday to Friday nights from 6pm to 9am, Saturday night 6pm-9am and Sunday night 6pm to 9am), plus a share of weekend day shifts (Saturdays 12noon-6pm, Sundays 9am-6pm) and your share of bank holidays.

Who we're looking for
An ideal candidate will have strong surgical abilities and be very confident working sole charge. You must be fully qualified, RCVS listed with at least 6 months small animal experience within an English speaking practice. You should also be a strong team player with an enthusiasm to develop your management skills and the ability to lead, motivate and develop the team.

You’ll receive clinical skills development and paid CPD through our tailored On-Site Training Programme, a thorough induction including ECC refresh and management training, as well as a very generous CPD allowance to develop your own particular ECC areas of interest.
