Veterinary Nurse (Full and Part Time)

Role & Responsibilities
Working in a Vets Now clinic will give you the opportunity to be the nurse you trained to be – you’ll enjoy a hands-on role treating a varied caseload, where no two shifts are quite the same! As part of a small team (working alongside a sole charge vet and a receptionist) you’ll provide nursing care for small animal emergency patients including clinical monitoring, drug administration, and hospitalised cases. You’ll also assist the veterinary surgeon with anaesthesia, surgery and clinical procedures.

Working Pattern
The Part Time position involves working 28.5 hours a month, and would involve one weekend day shift per month, plus two or three night shifts a month, ideally a Friday night or other weekend night. You would also be required to work a share of bank holiday days.

The Full Time position involves working a share of 3 nights per week, plus a share of weekend day shifts and public holiday days.

Shift times are a share of: Monday to Friday nights from 7pm to 8.30am, Saturday night 6pm-9am and Sunday night 6pm to 8.30am), plus a share of weekend day shifts (Saturdays 12noon-6pm, Sundays 9am-6pm) and your share of bank holidays.

Clinic Description
Our clinic in Lincoln provides excellent working conditions and this modern hospital (teir 3) is a very well equipped practice. You will have access to a full range of emergency equipment, including ultrasound equipment, multi-parameter monitor, I Stat machine, IDEXX machine and much more! For surgical cases the host practice offer 3 theatres, orthopaedic, soft tissue and dental respectively. Who we’re looking for
You don’t necessarily need to have lots of experience of Emergency and Critical Care. In our opinion, ECC is really about doing good quality medicine well, and of course developing your ECC skills through ongoing training. So all we ask is that you are fully qualified, RCVS registered and have a minimum of 6 months experience working within an English speaking small animal practice. You should also be comfortable working sole charge, confident in your clinical ability and of course legally eligible to work in the UK.
