Now for work-life balance at Vets Now Gateshead

At Vets Now Gateshead, we understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, which is why we have developed a rota pattern designed to support this. Our full-time role consists of working an average of 40 hours per week across weekday nights, along with weekend days and nights on a 1:2 rotation, as well as a share of bank holidays – never working more than three nights in a row.

Of course, we appreciate that not everyone can commit to full-time hours, which is why part-time or weekend-only applications are also warmly welcomed.

Now for a busy and rewarding ECC caseload

Our Gateshead clinic is a PDSA host practice, giving our team exposure to a high and varied caseload with excellent opportunities to develop emergency and critical care skills. The clinic is consistently ranked among the top five busiest in the company, meaning you’ll work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment alongside a supportive and experienced team.

Renowned internally as a full-on, high-performing clinic, Gateshead handles a significant emergency caseload and delivers emergency care to a very high standard. Recruitment for this clinic can take time due to demand, and we regularly welcome locum vets who enjoy the pace and variety of cases seen here.

Now for location

The clinic benefits from excellent public transport links, making commuting easy whether travelling from Gateshead, Newcastle, or the surrounding areas.

Now for enhanced rewards and benefits

Our commitment to your wellbeing extends beyond the diverse caseload, with an exceptional benefits package which includes, but is not limited to:

• £1,500 CPD allowance plus 35 paid hours pro rata
• ECC certificate support – financial support and paid study leave
• Enhanced company sick, maternity, paternity and adoption pay schemes
• Private medical insurance
• Seven weeks pro rata annual leave
• Up to 50% discounted staff pet care
• Professional membership fees paid

Now for innovation

Our AdvantEdge programme includes a one-week hands-on practical training, followed by 20 hours of flexible case-based e-learning completed at your pace. This blended approach is designed to help you start your career at Vets Now with confidence.
