About the Job

Friday Night Vet Nurse

Up to £15ph plus benefits

Make a difference and be the Vet Nurse you trained to be

Let’s be honest, working as an out-of-hours emergency nurse is challenging. With unsociable hours and a diverse range of cases a career in emergency and critical care will fully test your skills. Yet with unpredictability comes opportunity. With a Vet Nurse role at Vets Now you will be exposed to cases you simply wouldn’t experience in general practice. This role has the flexibility to commit to various weekend shifts, with more or less frequency so that you can still thrive in ECC while raising a family or working full-time.

Flexible weekend working for all

Vets Now are looking for dynamic Vet Nurses who are passionate about saving lives and able to commit to as little as one weekend a month, on a permanent basis. Whether you are balancing a busy lifestyle, raising a family, studying, looking to earn extra income or simply missing the thrill of emergency cases, weekend working could be perfect for you.

Vets Now Guildford is looking for a Vet Nurse who can commit to 2 in 4 Friday night shifts from 6pm – 9am.

People are our core

Working part time offers a solution that overcomes the usual challenges of being an out-of-hours Vet Nurse. Our vets can balance a career with caring for a family, studying for an ECC certification or training for a marathon! We are a special breed at Vets Now and our people will always decide how our company develops and what path we take.

Recognising hard work is really important to us. Our employees are our greatest asset which is why we offer a first class benefits and rewards package that includes:

  • 6.6 weeks pro rata annual leave
  • Your birthday as a paid day off
  • Private medical insurance
  • Comprehensive CPD allowance
  • Pension contributions
  • Professional membership fees
  • 50% discounted staff pet care
  • Death in service of two times annual salary
  • Membership of employee wellbeing programme
  • Company sick, maternity, paternity and adoption pay schemes

Your Opportunity

Our Guildford clinic is a steadily busy clinic, with an interesting caseload and a team of Nurses, Vets, Receptionists and Animal Care Assistants. We are looking for a RCVS registered Vet Nurse to relish the diverse caseload that ECC naturally brings, especially during busy nights and weekends.

If you’re looking for routine operations and daytime hours, this isn’t the job for you.
