Part of Vets Now and based at their 24-hour Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Swindon, Great Western Exotics is one of the leading avian and exotic animal specific veterinary services in the UK. It is headed by Dr Tom Dutton, European Specialist in Avian Medicine & RCVS Specialist in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine.

Great Western Exotics has a long established post-graduate training programme. Interns work alongside specialist vets and residents providing care for both first opinion and referral exotic Animal patients. Many of our interns have progressed onto our ECZM residency programme. The internship is 18 month duration and is offered for full-time attendance only.

Candidates would need at least one year experience in general practice or have already completed a small animal rotating internship.

Interns are required to work as part of a 1 in 4 OOH rota including weekends.

You must be, or eligible to be, a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Interns will experience a varied and balanced caseload of Avian, Exotic Mammals, and Reptiles, both private and zoological collections.
