Specialist services our hospital provides
Our team of specialists and referral vets offer pet owners in Greater Manchester access to the following referral services:
- Emergency and critical care
Our emergency and critical care specialists will see any pet that your vet considers to be an emergency immediately, life-threatening conditions including road traffic accidents, excessive bleeding, diarrhoea and vomiting, choking pets/breathing problems, collapse, seizures and suspected poisonings.
- Soft tissue surgery
Our soft tissue veterinary specialists perform consultations and operations on tissue and muscles and tackle problems such as urinary incontinence in cats and dogs, cats or dogs straining to urinate, breathing problems, ear problems or ear diseases, wounds and lumps.
- Orthopaedic surgery
Veterinary orthopaedics is concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system, or in basic terms, any injuries to the bone. Our Specialists use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat orthopaedic disorders in cats and dogs, such as fractures, breaks, hip dysplasia and arthritis.
- Internal medicine
From April 2017 we will also be offering an internal medicine service. Internal medicine is the specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. The internal medicine team will work closely with our emergency and critical care and soft tissue surgery teams to provide a complete service to you and your pet. Among the reasons your pet may get referred to our internal medicine department are diarrhoea that just won’t clear up, diabetes, unexplained weight loss, anaemia and cases where you know your pet is ill, but nobody can get to the bottom of it.
