Vets Now Green Group

Vets Now have a Green Group of different departments within the business that meets quarterly to aim to educate, inspire and motivate our teams to take action to reduce their environmental impact at work and home, one step at a time.

Our vision is to bring sustainability to the forefront of Vets Now’s everyday behaviour and decision-making as a company and individuals.

Some of the achievements of the group are below.

Green Champions in clinics

Each of our Vets Now clinics Green Champion – a member of staff who encourages and reminds the team to consider the environment as they do their daily work in the clinics. The Green Champions also champion our Environmental Sustainability Policies in our clinics. Our Green Champions will meet every so often to exchange ideas – small ideas can make big changes.

Environmental Sustainability Policy (ESP)

Vets Now are committed to reducing our environmental impact across all our sites. Our ESP guides our clinic staff on how to reduce their energy and water consumption, reduce their waste and where they create waste, and how to dispose of it responsibly. We also guide on how to use medicines responsibly.

Power apps

To save paper in clinics by driving paperless processes, whereby the client is asked to consent and sign via an App, rather than by printing out on paper.

Planting trees

Via the Woodland Trust, we have arranged to plant 22 trees in the gardens of several of our clinics

Litter picks

Our Support Office arranges an annual litter pick in the environs of the office

Vegetable garden

The Support Office has a garden which has borne spinach and cabbage, and kale

Cycle to work scheme

This is open to all employees to encourage them to take the bike rather than the car
