Harrogate the venue for 14th annual ECC Congress
VETS and vet nurses from across the world will be converging on Harrogate, North Yorkshire this week for a special conference on emergency and critical care.
The ECC Congress is one of the biggest of its kind in the world – with 660 delegates and more than 40 exhibitors due to attend.
Internationally-renowned vets Kate Hopper, Amanda Boag and John Williams will be among the keynote speakers at the event.
The conference, which runs on Thursday and Friday at the Majestic Hotel, was set up by Vets Now in 2004 to provide innovative training to the veterinary profession.

Amanda Boag, clinical director at Vets Now and vice-president of the RCVS, said: “Our mission is to bring some of the world’s leading ECC specialists together with vet professionals from the UK and beyond to debate and discuss the latest developments in the discipline.
“We have a fantastic list of speakers this year and there is something for everyone in the lecture programme. ECC is a discipline that’s constantly evolving and we’re committed to developing our programme to meet the needs of our growing audience.”
The conference features three lecture streams as well as a range of practical workshops led by veterinary experts such as Karen Humm and Jen Devey.
There is also a communications stream hosted by Christine Magrath and Geoff Little.
There’s a choice of more than 50 hours of diverse and innovative CPD at the event — all delivered by internationally-accredited speakers.
Complementing the clinical programme will be a busy social programme, with Thursday night’s flagship dinner featuring a Strictly theme.
Congress is supported by main sponsor Woodley Equipment Company Ltd, and other sponsors, Idexx Laboratories, Boehringer Ingelheim, Zoetis, Abaxis, KVP and Vet Times.
The Congress app is sponsored by BI.
Next year’s event – the 15th ECC UK Annual Congress – will take place on 8 and 9 November 2018 at the same venue.
