Tobias Grave

American, European & RCVS Recognised Specialist In Emergency & Critical Care

After graduating from the Tierärztliche Hochschule in Hannover (Germany), Tobias spent three years in a mixed animal practice and a small animal clinic in Germany before moving to the UK to work as an emergency vet in London.

Tobias joined Vets Now in 2003, working as a senior veterinary surgeon in our Stoke-on-Trent, Edinburgh and Glasgow out-of-hours clinics.

Tobias completed a Vets Now Residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Glasgow and became board certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2013. He achieved Diplomate status within the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2014 and became an RCVS-recognised Specialist in 2015.

Tobias has been nominated for the Pet Plan Vet of the Year and in 2013 won the Vets Now Referral Clinician of the Year award. He is a key member of the ECC referral team at the Vets Now Pet Emergency Hospital in Glasgow and works alongside another ECC specialist, two residents, one intern and three emergency nurses.

Tobias is an avid fly fisherman, passionate supporter of the football club Schalke 04, but spends most of his spare time with his family looking after their numerous animals on their smallholding, including a flock of Soay sheep, pygmy goats and runner ducks.
